The Company
The
simplest way to describe Mubito (www.mubito.com), is to say that it is
a bit like iTunes, crossed with MySpace, a web hosting company, a web
design agency, and some of the elements of Last.Fm. The other way to
describe it is to say that it is something completely new, because no
one has ever combined these things before. Mubito works for big music
companies such as Sony/BMG, but also for independent record labels and
directly with artists - providing smart tools to manage their digital
music businesses.
The Project
Our product is based upon BEA Portal technology with a full custom CMS and E-business back-end. The system is entirely built in Java using Hibernate, Spring and Beehive frameworks. The Weblogic application server is supported by an SQL server database. This online solution will support several thousands of websites and tens of millions of end users on a wide variety of platforms and browsers. The service will provide 99.95% availability. Mubito development processes are mostly based on Agile.
Position
Java Developers design and build the business logic and system level components of our platform. You will be responsible for design, development, test and debug of Java code in our platform and new feature development.
Qualifications
You have previously participated in the development of e-business applications, web community or web portal in an Apache/Tomcat, WebLogic or WebSphere environment. You have a passion for the latest advances in Java software development. You have sufficient skills in both written and spoken English. Autonomy and motivation also required.
Programming background:
• Servlet API, JSP, FreeMarker
• Portlets

• XML, XSL
• Application server : BEA weblogic, Tomcat, Jboss, or IBM Websphere.
• Database : JDBC with SQL Server / Oracle
Tools:
• Eclipse, NetBeans

• Bug tracking systems
Optional experience:
• RESTful web services, ATOM protocol
• Familiarity with alternative languages on JVM (Groovy, JRuby, Scala)
• Modern JavaScript frameworks ( jQuery, Prototype)
• Flex/Flash
• Previous project based upon CMS system
• FFmpeg
• Mplayer
• Integration of payment gateway (credit card, paypal)
